New and Improved TXU Energy Turkey Trot Course Map Unveiled Today
October 6, 2012 – TXU Energy and Sheltering Arms Senior Services today unveiled the new 10K, 5K and Kids Race Courses for the 20th Annual TXU Energy Turkey Trot benefiting Sheltering Arms Senior Services.

Updates to the race course followed participant feedback from last year’s race, in addition to efforts to accommodate an ever-growing event. The third largest footrace of its kind in the Greater Houston area, this year’s TXU Energy Turkey Trot routes will ensure an easier start and finish for the expected 15,000 runners while continuing to showcase the beautiful Galleria and Tanglewood areas along and between Westheimer and San Felipe Roads.

“We hope that these route improvements will make for an even more enjoyable event for our participants and the more than 30,000 spectators we expect Thanksgiving morning,” said Suraiya Culp of Luke’s Locker, which is Race Director for the TXU Energy Turkey Trot.

Today’s announcement was made at the Luke’s Locker on West Gray. “With the race just 47 days away, we look forward to another wonderful event benefiting such a worthy cause.”
