True Colors®
True Colors® is a personality inventory system that uses colors as metaphors for understanding human characteristics. By using colors to identify personality types, you will have at your disposal a quick and fun way to better understand friends, relatives, coworkers, and anyone else with whom you come into contact. This is a great tool with which to support your personal and professional relationships through better communication and respect for people’s uniqueness. How often do you receive training at your workplace that is as important to your personal relationships as it is to your professional relationships?
According to True Colors, there are four basic personality types and each type is given a color associated with those characteristics. Everyone has a little bit of each color in them (this is called your “color spectrum”) but one color usually stands out from all the rest. Your secondary colors complement your primary color and help to shape your personality.

Blue people are sympathetic, warm, communicative, compassionate people who not only need to feel appreciated and unique, but they must also feel that they are doing something meaningful with their time, that they are making a contribution to the world around them. Blues are found commonly in the helping professions. Blues are imaginative, romantic and dramatic. Blues tend to see the best in others, and value relationships over things. |

Gold people are loyal, dependable, punctual, stable and organized people who tend to have conservative, traditional views of everyone’s role in society. Work comes before play, and golds revel in the details of any task. Golds adapt best to academia and routine, and are most resistant to change. Golds are loyal and expect loyalty and are very comfortable belonging to and participating in large, organized groups and associations. |

Green people are calm, analytical, logical, non-conforming people who prefer to exist in the hypothetical, abstract, global world. They are visionary and inventive, and tend to be perfectionists. Greens must maintain control of their emotions at all times. Greens are always looking for answers to questions they ask themselves, and set a high standard for them and everyone else to meet. Greens love to develop models, concepts and ideas. |

Orange people are witty, charming and spontaneous people who prefer today over tomorrow, and who bore easily with routine. Oranges are bold, bright, fun-loving people who tend to be very competitive, but are also very generous. Oranges are impatient and eager to live life to its fullest. Oranges bounce back quickly from disappointments and adapt easily to change. Oranges love to play with tools, and flirt with danger. |
