The BRIDGE/El PUENTE is located in Napoleon Square Apartments in the center of the Gulfton community.
Since opening in 1998, this program has offered a variety of adult and family activities to a population composed primarily of new immigrants to our country. These families express a desire for opportunities that can offer hope for a life that would not be possible in their countries of origin. Current ongoing programs include:
Even Start Program
The Even Start Program offers year round family literacy services including English language acquisition and reading programs for adults and preschool children.
Monday - Thursday 8:30-11:30
Friday 9:00-11:00
El Civics Program
El Civics Program is designed to assist immigrants with English language acquisition and citizenship preparation, through use of a computer lab with software specifically designed for language and civics knowledge development. Other program components include a mentoring program, community/civic projects and workshop presentations by local service providers and collaborators.
