Supplier Diversity Recognition Breakfast
2011 Supplier Diversity Recognition Breakfast
Our first annual event recognized key supporters of Neighborhood Centers Inc.’s Supplier Diversity Initiative and its Diverse Supplier of the Year.
This event, alongside the Supplier Diversity initiative, encourages economic opportunity for area enterprises and for emerging leaders in the business community.
The goal of the breakfast is aimed at celebrating and honoring those individuals who have made the greatest contribution to diversifying our supply base and encouraging economic opportunity for local, small and minority owned enterprises.
The 2011 breakfast also honored Neighborhood Centers Inc. Diverse Supplier of the Year, demonstrating the highest level of customer service, response time and alignment with the overall Neighborhood Centers Inc. mission. Nominees for this award included Commercial Wallcovering Resources, Litho Printing and Murray Resources.

Other winners include
Saundra Irving
, receiving the Maverick Award. This award recognizes the Neighborhood Centers Inc. employee, board member, volunteer or partner who has made the greatest impact on operational strategy encouraging inclusiveness and diversity amongst our suppliers and partners.
Michael Metzler
received the Vanguard Award. This recognizes the individual who has taken the most active and visible role in leading the charge for diversifying our supply base and increasing economic fortitude amongst the small and minority owned businesses supporting Neighborhood Centers Inc.
