The following websites have been approved by our teachers and administrators. Students may use the sites to conduct research or play learning games. Any time children use the Internet they should be carefully supervised by their parents.

The National Head Start Association is a private not-for-profit membership organization dedicated exclusively to meeting the needs of Head Start children and their families. It represents more than one million children, 200,000 staff and 2,700 Head Start programs in the United States. The Association provides support for the entire Head Start community by advocating for policies that strengthen services to Head Start children and their families; by providing extensive training and professional development to Head Start staff; and by developing and disseminating research, information, and resources that enrich Head Start program delivery.
The mission of the Texas Early Childhood Education Coalition is to build a system of quality early care and education that prepares children in Texas for success in their education and life. The website is focused primarily on legislative and advocacy issues; however there is also information on general resources for young children.
Founded in 1926, NAEYC is the world's largest organization working on behalf of young children with nearly 100,000 members, a national network of over 300 local, state, and regional Affiliates, and a growing global alliance of like-minded organizations.Membership is open to all individuals who share a desire to serve and act on behalf of the needs and rights of all young children. The website contains information on Accreditation, public policy, best practices, training opportunities and resources for parents, teachers and administrators.
Parenting
Zero to Three’s web site has both parent and professional sections. In the parent section, there are articles adapted from their bi-monthly bulletin, weekly messages to parents, a guide to helping parents whose child is going through a developmental assessment, information on developmental milestones and more.
The NFI was established in 1994 and is directed by Wade Horn, Ph.D., who is the former U.S. Commissioner for Children, Youth, and Families. The site offers membership to the NFI, but the majority of membership benefits seem to be accessible through this web site. It contains an online catalog of resources that can be ordered, back issues of "Fatherhood Today," tips from other fathers, links to other fatherhood-related web sites, and an interactive forum which links fathers to educational counselors and other fathers. Easy to navigate!
CWLA is an association of more than 900 public and private nonprofit agencies that assist more than 3.5 million abused and neglected children and their families each year with a range of services. Their mission is to promote the well-being of children, youth, and their families, and protect every child from harm. The website has tips on raising children and working within your community to increase support for parents and parenting.
