Neighborhood Centers Inc. Harbach-Ripley Neighborhood Center was built in 1959 by the Ripley Foundation at the request of the residents in the southeast Houston neighborhood of Garden Villas and families with children attending a local junior high school. The center has always provided residents with a traditional menu of community center services. Recently, Harbach-Ripley has begun to focus most of its attention on youth programs in response to a community desire for age-appropriate, healthy, wholesome activities for children and youth ages 5 through 18. A long-standing senior program and the anchor site of Sunny Futures Healthy Start continue to operate at this site Monday through Friday.
