School Year – Our youth development program offers year-round leadership opportunities for pre-teens and adolescents. Students are grouped with peers and explore an asset-rich curriculum that includes self-assessment tools, leadership and character building, youth councils, service learning projects and academic support that promotes achievement and goal setting. Cultural and recreational activities enhance community connections and give young people opportunities to discover and practice new skills. Weekly lesson plans delivered at community centers and satellite locations promote the benefits of a healthy life style through health and nutrition, substance abuse prevention and abstinence education. Programs and fees vary per location. Call your nearest neighborhood center for schedules and enrollment information.

Summer – Higher Education for Youth, (H.E.Y), is a fun, dynamic, nine-week tutorial program unlike any other. H.E.Y was designed by college students and skilled professionals who know what it takes to succeed. Its purpose is to prepare young people for future employment and academic success through proven methods based on a Positive Youth Development model. The curriculum guides youth between the ages of 11 to 18 in practicing the skills they will need to master the SAT/PSATs. Students learn about the college admissions process and vocational choices, take college tours, earn community service hours, and learn fun crafts like making a music CD or photography. Weekly field trips and Saturday night events included. Call your nearest neighborhood center for schedules and enrollment information.
