On Thursday, February 25, 2010, Neighborhood Centers Inc. honored philanthropist Trini Mendenhall Sosa during our annual Heart of Gold Celebration. Mrs. Mendenhall Sosa was presented with the agency’s Alice Graham Baker Crusader Award in honor of her generous support of Houston and its many communities.
At the event, Houston Mayor Annise Parker presented Mrs. Mendenhall Sosa with a proclamation designating February 25th as Trini Mendenhall Sosa Day in the City of Houston. The announcement was one of many highlights throughout the luncheon celebration.
Neighborhood Centers Inc.'s Heart of Gold Celebration is held yearly to honor and thank the members of the community who support our work throughout the year. Approximately 500 guests attended to show their support of Neighborhood Centers Inc. and our initiatives. Chevron was the presenting sponsor of this year’s event. Our heartfelt thanks to Chevron, as well as to all of our contributing sponsors and attendees for making the 2010 Heart of Gold Celebration a huge success.
