The Clock is Ticking...
With this year’s tax deadline falling on April 18 (rather than the traditional April 15), there are a few extra days to file your taxes for free at any of the 17 Neighborhood Tax Centers’ locations in the Greater Houston area.
Free tax preparation services are available to families throughout the Greater Houston area earning less than $50,000 and single individuals earning less than $30,000. That means that 50 percent of Houstonians qualify to receive free IRS-certified tax preparation services provided through Neighborhood Tax Centers.
The 2010 tax season has seen Neighborhood Centers help more than 17,000 Houston-area families save more than $3 million in tax preparation fees. Our goal is to complete 27,000 returns this year.
