Neighborhood Centers Inc. has been a part of the Pasadena/South Houston community since 1948 providing recreational, education and enrichment programs for all ages even before the Cleveland-Ripley center opened its doors in 1968.

Cleveland-Ripley Neighborhood Center offers a variety of education and enrichment classes for all ages at convenient times and minimal cost.

Education & Enrichment for the Whole Family

Build or enhance your skills at convenient times with a minimal membership fee of $100 per year per family or $30 for youth and seniors. This includes classes to develop a hobby, meet new people, or continue your education. Frequently offered classes include:

  • Computer classes
  • English as a second language (ESL)
  • Music classes: piano, guitar, violin
  • Karate
  • Cake decorating

Youth Programs

After-School Programs
The center offers care for 5-13 year olds and a youth enrichment program 14-18 year olds, Monday through Friday. Participants receive:
  • Help with daily homework
  • Tutoring, as needed
  • Opportunities to learn new skills, meet new friends and broaden horizons
  • Enrichment activities

Summer Day Camps

Cleveland-Ripley offers 5-13 year olds a 10-week summer day camp Monday-Friday. This program offers:
  • Supervised, fun-filled days
  • Opportunities to learn about different cultures
  • Weekly field trips
  • Fun activities such as arts and crafts, sports and fitness, cooking and nutrition classes and more
Summer programs for ages 14-18 vary by site and include summer youth employment opportunities, community service projects, enrichment activities and field trips.
